TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Get pickup from the airport/train station to the hotel. Then you will have time for discovering by yourselves the attractions of Hanoi City. Why not arrive early to see the sights? Check out your reflection in beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, wander along shaded. Museum-wise, why not visit the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, drop into the serene Temple of Literature or get arty at the city’s Fine Arts Museum.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Halong Cruise (B,L,D)

Have breakfast at your hotel.

7.45-8.30 Pick-up at the hotel then travel to the spectacular World Heritage site of Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin (approximately four hours) with a short break on the way. The bay is dotted with sandy coves, grottoes and 1,600 limestone islands, which have been formed over millennia by wind and water erosion.

12.00 – 12.30 Embark on Lavender Cruise followed by a short cruise briefing and enjoy a welcome-drink. Check in the cabin.

13.15 Enjoy lunch with sampling regional fresh seafood while cruising on exquisite water, passing Incense Burner island, Fighting Cock islet, Stone Dog… Lavender Cruise will bring you to explore HaLong Bay on the most wonderful route where just a few cruises go through.

15.00-16.30 Do kayaking through the magnificent landscape with Limestone Mountains, visit Titov Island and swimming or just relaxing on the sun-deck for fantastic views at The Bay. After kayaking, you will be back to Lavender Cruises and join a sunset party.

The cruise passes by Soi Sim Beach, “Rang Dua” Island to a sleeping area near The Surprising cave.

19:30 Under the magnificent night sky, our set-menu dinner is served with a variety of Vietnamese and Asian foods.

Evening activities:

Join squid fishing on a boat with our crews, playing cards, karaoke or laze yourself with our happy-hour drinks at the bar. To end the day, spend a peaceful night aboard the boat beneath the night sky.

DAY 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Night Train To Sapa (B,L)

06:15 Morning exercises on the Sun-deck.

07:15 Have breakfast with Coffee, tea and Bakeries on board.

08:00 Visit the Surprising Cave (Hang Sung Sot) discovered by the French in 1901. Opened for tourists since 1936, now it is a must-to-see and a symbol for the geological value of Halong.

09:30 Check out time. Then relax on the sun-deck or inside the restaurant to enjoy the bay’s scenery.

10h15 Enjoying a traditional Vietnamese lunch while cruising back to the pier.

12:00 Check out cruise. Our car will be at your disposal to pick you up then drive back to Hanoi.

16:30 Arrive in Hanoi. Drop you off at the hotel.

Note: All hotels have a public bathroom for all guests to take a shower or dress up if they only need transit at the hotel before leaving for overnight train. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to book a room to take a shower and fresh up for 1-2 hours only.

You have free time to have dinner before our driver comes to pick you up then transfers to Hanoi Railway Station for overnight train. We will guide you how to do check in at the station and let you know how to be picked up at Lao Cai Station upon arrival. Our driver will transfer you to the hotel in Sapa.

DAY 4: Sapa Arrival – Cat Cat Village Trekking (B,L)

The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at about 6:00 am. Our driver will pick you up and transfer you along the beautiful road to Sapa. After breakfast, you will trek about 6 km to come to visit the village of the Black H’mong. Visit the waterfall and hydroelectric power station established by the French people in the past, view nice landscapes of green forests and beautiful scenery along the way. Walk back to Sapa town. Have lunch at the hotel.

Afternoon, you will have free time to visit Sapa town, market, church or visit the flower garden in Ham Rong mountain by yourself.

DAY 5: Lao Chai – Ta Van Village – Night Train To Hanoi (B,L)

After breakfast, we leave the hotel and start trekking down the valley to the Muong Hoa stream and from here to the Black H’mong village – Lao Chai village (Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa). After that, you will continue your trekking along MuongHoa stream, paddy field to Ta Van village, visit and understand about “Zay” ethnic people. You will see houses of The Zay people which are built of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. You will have a picnic lunch at the village while enjoying beautiful sightseeing of paddy fields around. Leaving the villages, you are picked up by car to get back to Sapa. In the afternoon, you will have free time then we will pick you up at Lao Cai train station.

Note: Lao Chai – Ta Van trekking route is around 12km. Please contact us if you can’t go trekking for a long distance.

DAY 6: Hanoi Arrival – Free And Easy

You will arrive at Hanoi railway station at about 5:30am. We will arrange a private car or taxi to transfer you to the hotel. The normal check-in time is at 14:00 in Vietnam. We will let you check in after 11:00 in case we have an available room. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to book an early check-in service.

DAY 7: Hanoi – Fly To Ho Chi Minh City (B)

You will have breakfast at the hotel then free and easy till our driver comes to transfer you to the airport. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh, pick up from the airport to hotel. Then you are free on your own to experience the hustle and bustle of former Saigon and explore some of the city’s more interesting sights.

DAY 8: Mekong Delta Deluxe Group Full Day Tour (B,L)

Have breakfast at your hotel.

Today you will join a trip to Mekong Delta to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and the rich culture of the vibrant southern Delta region. Boating down the river to experience the local life, fishing port, fishing floating house, enjoy the local folk song music and seasonal fresh fruit.

7:30 – 8:30 Leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and starting your trip to depart for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Upon arrival, visit Vinh Trang pagoda which dates back to the late 19th century. Then boarding the sampan and cruising down the river around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands.

Stop over at Unicorn Island, go walking around the country lane and see orchards, enjoy tropical fruits, folk song music which is performed by the local people. Visit the fruit plantation.

Ride a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and treat yourself to the beauty of the countryside, visit the family business, visit honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop.

Have lunch at a local restaurant. Break time.

In the afternoon, time for cycling around the Tan Thach village, meet the local villagers to experience the local daily life in the Mekong delta. Hammock relaxing and enjoying cool breeze for those who can’t join the cycling trip.

DAY 9: Cu Chi Tunnels Deluxe Group Half Day Tour (B)

Have breakfast at your hotel.

7:45-8:15 Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and then start driving to Cu Chi which is located 70 km from the Ho Chi Minh City Center to the Northwest. Cu Chi was known as the “area of steel” in the war time, and the tunnel systems were over 200km, which was considered the unbreakable underground village in the Vietnam-American war. It is legendary for its network of tunnels and is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will have some short introduction followed by an introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of the war time. Then, spend your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems which included the specially constructed living areas with kitchens, bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) will be served.

Break time for relax or time for those who want to try the real shooting gun

– Children from 2 – 4 years old sharing the bed/seats on the travel bus with parents is required to pay $160USD per child for the internal flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh (as infant’s price on our website)

– Children from 5 – 8 years old will be required to pay 75% of tour price (as children’s price on our website), sharing the bed with parents or pay full price (as adult’s price on our website) to have an extra bed.
